Legal Support

Navigating the legal system can feel overwhelming—especially during a difficult or unsafe situation. At Esprit Place Family Resource Centre, we are here to help you understand your rights, explore your options, and connect with the supports you need.

You do not have to go through this process alone.

How We Can Help

We provide information, guidance, and referrals to help you make informed decisions about your situation. Our team can support you with:

  • Understanding your legal rights and options

  • Information about family law, including custody and access

  • Support related to restraining orders and other legal protections

  • Guidance on reporting to police and what to expect

  • Referrals to legal professionals and community legal services

  • Help preparing for appointments or court (emotional support and planning)

We are here to answer questions, explain processes in plain language, and support you at your own pace.

Your Choices Matter

Seeking legal support is a personal decision. You may not be ready to take legal action—and that’s okay. We will respect your choices and provide information so you can decide what feels right for you and your family.

Confidential and Supportive

Our services are free and confidential. We will never pressure you to take steps you are not comfortable with. Our role is to support, inform, and walk alongside you.

Connecting You to Legal Resources

If you choose to pursue legal support, we can help connect you with trusted community partners, including:

  • Legal aid services

  • Family law lawyers
